At reNEW we believe that every voice deserves a chance to be heard, every story deserves to be told, and every writer’s calling is worth nurturing. We understand that financial constraints can sometimes stand in the way of attending life-changing retreat weekends at reNEW.
We are thrilled to announce the Lucinda Secrest McDowell Scholarship Fund—carrying on the legacy of our former co-director—gives you the opportunity to take the next step on your literary journey to bring you nourishment and growth.
Only partial scholarships are offered for retreat weekends and not one-day events. Scholarships are towards registration costs for the weekend and bookings for all rooms but NOT rooms with ensuite bathrooms or travel costs. (Please note that registration costs includes program, lodging, and food – all costs for the weekend excluding travel.)
The scholarship amount awarded will be applied when you register.

We are able to accept scholarship applications for reNEW 2026 until July 1, 2026. No scholarship applications will be accepted after this date.
All scholarships will be reviewed after July 1, 2026 and you will be notified about a scholarship decision by July 21, 2026.
