As you are no doubt aware, the requirements and advice concerning Covid have and are constantly changing since we first announced the “reNEW Your Courage” event on August 1st. As Directors, we have had to reevaluate our decisions in light of the current situation concerning the highly contagious Delta variant.

In particular, as event planners it is our responsibility to comply with local government guidelines. The state of Connecticut and the town of Wethersfield have a mask mandate effective August 28 for all indoor meeting spaces which applies regardless of vaccination status, and unless eating or drinking.

As our event will gather together many people from multiple households in an indoor space, it is our desire that everyone who attends this event be assured we have done all we can to ensure as much health safety as is in our power. For this reason, we feel it is appropriate to request that all our attendees provide proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid or a negative Covid test taken 72 hours before or any time leading up to the event on November 6th.

Your information will be kept confidential between you and the Directors. We will endeavor to confirm vaccinations and test results by private email prior to the actual event—no one will be physically checking off folks at the event.

Fully vaccinated means two weeks after receiving the second dose for 2-dose vaccines such as Pfizer and Moderna and two weeks after receiving a 1-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.

Also, please be aware free Covid testing is available in most communities.

If on reading this,

When we first planned “reNEW Your Courage” we had all hoped the pandemic was improving and we could safely gather without so many rules. Sadly, that is not the case.

We hope you understand our decision and we look forward to seeing you on November 6th. If you feel you are unable to fulfill our requests and wish to change your mind about attending the event, we will refund your registration fee. Please contact us at info@renewwriting.com
