Lucinda Secrest McDowell is passionate about embracing life — both through deep soul care from drawing closer to God, as well as living courageously in order to touch a needy world. She is the author of 12 books, contributing author to 25 books, and has published in more than 50 magazines. Her books and studies include: Dwelling Places, Live These Words, Refresh!, Amazed by Grace, Quilts from Heaven, Role of a Lifetime, God’s Purpose for You, Better Together and 30 Ways to Embrace Life.

A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Furman University, she also studied at the Wheaton Graduate School of Communication. A member of Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA), Cindy is energized by investing in people of all ages through her ministry “Encouraging Words.” She has served on faculty at “Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference,” “Florida Christian Writers Conference,” “Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference,” and was named Writer of the Year at the “Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference.” A founding co-director/faculty at “New England Christian Writers Retreat,” she is delighted to continue to encourage writers and speakers as a co-director for “reNEW.” Known for her ability to convey deep truth in practical and winsome ways, Lucinda writes from “Sunnyside” cottage in Connecticut. Her newest book, Ordinary Graces, will be released in 2017.
